HERE IS THE STORY YOU HELPED US WRITE.
Some years past, THE BIG KAHUNA had a romance with THE SEA HAG. The the Sea Hag bore their child, NETTA, who lives with the Big Kahuna in his cliffside castle. Netta is a sad, drab thing, nothing like THE FELLINI-ESQUE TOWNSFOLK she lives among. For her birthday, the Big Kahuna gave Netta A FLOCK OF MONARCH BUTTERFLIES. Not to be outdone, the Sea Hag cast A SNOW SPELL over the land, bringing Netta what she loves most: the cold and grey. The spell kills two birds with one stone, as it doubles as a curse on the Big K, who spurned The Sea Hag.
The Sea Hag sends her right-hand SEKLIE to cast the spell with a flap of flippers, craning of the neck, a honk, and a dramatic incantation. Netta thrives in the cold, but everybody else in the land (including her father) gradually LOSES ALL MEMORY and the ability to move. THEIR HEARTS BECOME FROZEN Their conversations become shorter and shorter until one day they cease altogether. The people are statues. Despondent, Netta runs to the shore and cries. The Selkie emerges from the sea and comforts her. She welcomes his slick, salty embrace. The develop a romance. The Selkie tries dancing and inadvertently does his snow spell dance, because he doesn't have any legs, which makes Netta laugh. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME SHE'S EVER LAUGHED. She copies the dance. The statues notice (this is the only thing they can notice). Muffled laughter arises. It builds and builds to a great joyous uproar and eventually congeals in a pure tone, at which point THE PERFECT SNOWFLAKE crystallizes and the spell is lifted. Everybody is reunited, including the Sea Hag.
